I am working on art work to depersonalize my house to put up for sale in the spring. I wanted to have a piece of my children up still without having it scream Caleb and Emily are here!! I say this only because those of you who have seen my house in the past know that the walls of my house were a shrine to my children!</div><div style="text-align: center;">After spending some time on Pinterest I came up with a way to accomplish what I wanted.</div><div style="text-align: center;">I decided to reuse some canvases that I painted when Caleb was born.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

You could print yours in black and white to make it easier to see the edges.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Let's start on your canvas.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Paint the base color over the entire canvas, go over the edge just a little but don't worry about the sides you will cover them with the ribbon later. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Let it dry. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih3K-difROIukk1Y_H0nJMjGn15jHdSjpIw6z8Cg9BmDXQK6hlteLIhFdOoft0z-42AYU9wQFSIGaOlCL-J0DrIwM_GNPosMqYNczBteYHHbcn-jQj-Z8cbhjZM7Syr1QewAWj_EhXDR4r/s1600/IMG_0448.JPG+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEih3K-difROIukk1Y_H0nJMjGn15jHdSjpIw6z8Cg9BmDXQK6hlteLIhFdOoft0z-42AYU9wQFSIGaOlCL-J0DrIwM_GNPosMqYNczBteYHHbcn-jQj-Z8cbhjZM7Syr1QewAWj_EhXDR4r/s320/IMG_0448.JPG+(2).JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Tape off a border. I created my borders using the width of the painters tape. The first boarder is 3-1/2" wide and the second is the width of the tape-3". Scale your borders according to the size of the canvas you are using. The outer border should be bigger than the inner border.</div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> Paint your second color in like shown above. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-hZdzJsJtGe944prKjKaitjC338L8ivXyu1cA-vGZIenbNlxsks_GZWzkpY_828CWlMKv9v312tfwiuTfPCrV6gavZDo7nEIU0EUA5MFLxz2CTSPzNEdPx-JpanMBTwp01XpADdVHYhXb/s1600/IMG_0445.JPG+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-hZdzJsJtGe944prKjKaitjC338L8ivXyu1cA-vGZIenbNlxsks_GZWzkpY_828CWlMKv9v312tfwiuTfPCrV6gavZDo7nEIU0EUA5MFLxz2CTSPzNEdPx-JpanMBTwp01XpADdVHYhXb/s320/IMG_0445.JPG+(2).JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">While that is drying, print out your profile picture on 8-12 x 11" paper, cut it out, and then trace your image on the BACK of your scrapbook paper. I did the same process for the letter on the lower portion of the canvas. I went online and found a font that I liked and traced it on the back of the scrapbook paper (mirror image) and then cut them both out. Set that aside.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Take your main color and the pearlizing medium and mix them together. I would do about 75% base color and 25% pearlizer. You don't need much, maybe about two tablespoons total. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf-nyw2c-v6jn6coyPyvuGxlSH681dTea1eYIiYCcrFtmHXoIbdd7L3JtyFdEueY8FbDmE5fhrWxWd7CKkDl7SNEUiJumqSjL9VVa6swtnD5APOidYgef2YbTr6O-V2GyEAtzzQrilQEoI/s1600/IMG_0440.JPG+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf-nyw2c-v6jn6coyPyvuGxlSH681dTea1eYIiYCcrFtmHXoIbdd7L3JtyFdEueY8FbDmE5fhrWxWd7CKkDl7SNEUiJumqSjL9VVa6swtnD5APOidYgef2YbTr6O-V2GyEAtzzQrilQEoI/s320/IMG_0440.JPG+(2).JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Take your foam brush and your stencil and add your backdrop the the center of the canvas.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Note: Don't put too much paint on your foam brush or it will bleed through your stencil. I dabbed it in the paint and then dabbed some off onto some paper towel. You can always go over it again to add more color but it is hard to take it back off.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"> I also added the pearling medium to the boarder of my canvas to add more shimmer before I tool off the tape. I used my paint brush to do this. Note: this will lighten the color of your boarder a little. You may have some bleeding touching up to do where the tape was depending on how well you got the tape stuck to the canvas.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> Let that dry completely.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Lay out your silhouette and letter on the canvas, try to center them in the middle of the canvas and leave a small space between the image and the letter. The spacing will change depending on the size of the canvas you are using.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxeRhulZT6litjCUhR_pnc-bHK3moqjNX8bFCCf7UUmTi3fLLb-fFKMI_3xe03d8LYOf7pimRRmlWEEhvvHuQTIB6HJl4juXvCzdfzzPHO1XnxwqxiUdmX7NYR6MpBNnMuq3m_LfXpg5P7/s1600/IMG_0449.JPG+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxeRhulZT6litjCUhR_pnc-bHK3moqjNX8bFCCf7UUmTi3fLLb-fFKMI_3xe03d8LYOf7pimRRmlWEEhvvHuQTIB6HJl4juXvCzdfzzPHO1XnxwqxiUdmX7NYR6MpBNnMuq3m_LfXpg5P7/s320/IMG_0449.JPG+(2).JPG" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> When you are happy with how they look</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">glue them onto the canvas with your mod podge. Make sure to go all the way to the edges of the scrapbook paper, this will get messy but you want the edges covered in glue so they don't peel up.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I went ahead and painted the whole canvas with the mod podge to seal the whole canvas and make sure the image wouldn't peel of the canvas. You do need to be careful to not get it too thick in one spot. It will go on creamy and thick and you will think you have just ruined all your work but don't worry it will dry clear. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Note: Since the mod podge is water based you can spread it out a little with a wet brush if it gets too thick.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

As I was doing the yucky job of paperwork for my taxes I realized how many GREAT projects I did last year! I LOVE doing projects for people, especially when it is for a special occasion. I feel so honored to have a little part in their special event! I get to start this year with just such a project.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I have had a friend from design school, who just had a baby girl, call me up and ask me to make her a special dress for a wedding that they are going to where the grandparents will be meeting their granddaughter for the first time. My heart melts! This happens to be an Irish themed wedding and mom wanted to make a dress that represented that and yet her little one could wear for a while. So, here is a picture of the pattern and the fabric that I am going to be making for her. you will have to wait for the final product to see that!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY1IvT2CXyFuQA_4JqImtXZjMC7GNgA7JMBJHJ99eCx6-420ffUBVDhzvm9IroVw4RfhJi7BRFrhjtqNGnyChL5vzO5i7tRP0dssBHnexKQ4lB16xOYqgmWh2d2lZJXyeouKd2naP8Onl6/s1600/Julia+Johnson.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjY1IvT2CXyFuQA_4JqImtXZjMC7GNgA7JMBJHJ99eCx6-420ffUBVDhzvm9IroVw4RfhJi7BRFrhjtqNGnyChL5vzO5i7tRP0dssBHnexKQ4lB16xOYqgmWh2d2lZJXyeouKd2naP8Onl6/s320/Julia+Johnson.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I think this is a really cute and easy solution to a problem that I am sure many of you have out there! Thanks, Tara Gibson for sharing your project! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><b><u>Ribbon-trimmed jeans</u></b></div><div style="text-align: center;">My little girl has a tendency to outgrow her pants in the length before she is ready to move to the next size in the waist. A friend who has the same problem showed me what she did to lengthen her daughter’s pants.</div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhx5T_OcvivIFG7XdvM5QmOOrY7Yi3KpPzU1yMmLk_WMYzOZcSm-zdi8F5ZdJ10D5SeexzBtmAWEnaUom43YD8r-OwJI2Aria_XmpPun_QkpkkZ0WaXv_G1bJ14O7_wR1lg_phtdxJpiVsR/s1600/Tara%2527s+pants+finished.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhx5T_OcvivIFG7XdvM5QmOOrY7Yi3KpPzU1yMmLk_WMYzOZcSm-zdi8F5ZdJ10D5SeexzBtmAWEnaUom43YD8r-OwJI2Aria_XmpPun_QkpkkZ0WaXv_G1bJ14O7_wR1lg_phtdxJpiVsR/s320/Tara%2527s+pants+finished.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">My friend did hers using a hot glue gun. I happened to have some peel n stick fabric tape on hand so that is what I used. It’s like double sided tape for fabric. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpqrxq1afufd9oH41oKjEyOqtea0Xk_3a5dx2P_AINgiHxAl9ncgNaG7zeCdCxPhWB8tI3qS6Wct6O1lUdlzEgkts8FyaCOvZpfVtq05CWseUsb_E6uCbBmO__Odxs1sfme0wzvB5IT5HT/s1600/Tara%2527s+pants+peel+and+stick.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpqrxq1afufd9oH41oKjEyOqtea0Xk_3a5dx2P_AINgiHxAl9ncgNaG7zeCdCxPhWB8tI3qS6Wct6O1lUdlzEgkts8FyaCOvZpfVtq05CWseUsb_E6uCbBmO__Odxs1sfme0wzvB5IT5HT/s320/Tara%2527s+pants+peel+and+stick.jpg" width="228" /></a> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I did this in under 2 hours. Most of your time is spent doing the prep work: cutting the ribbon, cutting the fabric tape, applying the tape. Once you have your ribbons cut, apply squares of tape to the ends of the ribbons on the wrong side of the ribbon and leave the backing on. Lay out the ribbons in the order you want to place them. Peel off the backing on one end of the ribbon and press the ribbon onto the outside of the pants.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA66WIcC-uHlHEg-kfvEsDDjT-cp6Eq_fmlC2kf08s5u9AcfK24ARGrRoxDhT2A94WKZAq2kAUC4udybSBGxAj0Kf-dHgWyE2tfY9nheoeVeBBilH1DYpGet4EUEQ1BPRl0OmHzGDBYeKi/s1600/Tara%2527s+pants++step+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA66WIcC-uHlHEg-kfvEsDDjT-cp6Eq_fmlC2kf08s5u9AcfK24ARGrRoxDhT2A94WKZAq2kAUC4udybSBGxAj0Kf-dHgWyE2tfY9nheoeVeBBilH1DYpGet4EUEQ1BPRl0OmHzGDBYeKi/s320/Tara%2527s+pants++step+1.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;">Next, peel off the backing from the other end and press it to the inside of the pant leg. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYFz8lo4imYcVnA7hYbyLf_c_9Ra7Dh634esbvKLf2fHyBhzX8ijd5a88EJNJZ_JjW-6Mgkx-Bpj3uApHK5BbwDPoVu26JdzIABrslz0oH2IgiqD-VJuziSEVtOsBgP2ZIJNAP_vj2Y5gt/s1600/Tara%2527s+pants+step+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYFz8lo4imYcVnA7hYbyLf_c_9Ra7Dh634esbvKLf2fHyBhzX8ijd5a88EJNJZ_JjW-6Mgkx-Bpj3uApHK5BbwDPoVu26JdzIABrslz0oH2IgiqD-VJuziSEVtOsBgP2ZIJNAP_vj2Y5gt/s320/Tara%2527s+pants+step+2.jpg" width="228" /></a> </div><div style="text-align: center;">Do this all the way around the pant leg until it looks like this:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiutecXuXwdJyxfD0BkhKf_HF2_THS3uOpJmWKYNLq0j2k15NpE844Yu7aThZxipWjBJoQzVCl72_MGbcTmIlEhyphenhyphenZPxOxRdv2VTj1zkPyc2G3U0yF5b5U_ZjletZm90nTorxsG5AxzyM5KM/s1600/Tara%2527s+pants+step+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiutecXuXwdJyxfD0BkhKf_HF2_THS3uOpJmWKYNLq0j2k15NpE844Yu7aThZxipWjBJoQzVCl72_MGbcTmIlEhyphenhyphenZPxOxRdv2VTj1zkPyc2G3U0yF5b5U_ZjletZm90nTorxsG5AxzyM5KM/s320/Tara%2527s+pants+step+3.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;">Next, apply a band of ribbon all the way around to cover up the exposed edges. I have always felt that it was a waste of money to only wear an outfit once a year. THEN i had a little girl who LOVES to dress up! Now I find myself looking for things that I can make for her to wear for almost any holiday. Speaking of which I just bought fabric to make Emily a skirt for Valentines day.... What do you guys think? <br />
<br />
Holiday outfits or no.......Precious Monkeyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15632208020444651524noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4000334598976237297.post-74682641981441683612012-01-02T08:20:00.000-08:002012-01-02T08:20:29.258-08:00New Year of creativity- Help me out, PLEASE!!!!So, I was reminded that I have not been on here in about three months!!! Wow, time goes by SO fast!!! I was sitting for a little girl and there was just NO time left with three toddlers running around to sit down and write to you all. I am no longer doing the sitting gig and I am hoping that I will be able to do more on my blog this year. Write me and tell me what types of things you would like to see on my site. There are so many things to talk about that it makes it hard to pick just one. If you have been following my blog then you know that I LOVE to sew! It is my favorite was to spend my free time! I am up for posting tutorials on how to do projects, show more of the pieces that I create or anything else you might think of. Here is to a New Year of creativity! Happy New year everyone!Precious Monkeyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15632208020444651524noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4000334598976237297.post-51192136511071383902011-09-26T17:13:00.000-07:002011-09-26T17:13:53.304-07:00Costumes....Part II<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So, When I went to the fabric store I was forced to make so changes to the ideas that I had in my head.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgslPbkSun-m23jKxA1KC1WGdzhcM1c8EkQReYF_fVeH-_Z-u_db0UB7-LUlP6LMnJLzqNKfQKh2PQOAIb9EC1c2j4LlP0aV4UunBDBmRWCKZMXIhEhbGIOO7Ha-6nO7vJYr7GB0BI0gSaP/s1600/DSC00454.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgslPbkSun-m23jKxA1KC1WGdzhcM1c8EkQReYF_fVeH-_Z-u_db0UB7-LUlP6LMnJLzqNKfQKh2PQOAIb9EC1c2j4LlP0aV4UunBDBmRWCKZMXIhEhbGIOO7Ha-6nO7vJYr7GB0BI0gSaP/s320/DSC00454.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I could only find one brocade fabric that I liked to use for the dress. So, I decided to use that one for the top and compromise on the center of the skirt.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is a close up of the brocade fabric for the top...<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I decided to use this sparkly sheer fabric as an overlay for the center of the dress.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I also decided to go simple on the trim and this was sparkly trim that had flowers on it.<br />

I think NOT!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So, I am going to be starting on Emily's Halloween costume. Being Emily she wants to be "prince" which is Emily for Princess which in turn means Rapunzel or "punzel" in Emily.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So, I purchased this pattern to make it, but, me being me thought that it looks too poofy compared to the skirt from the movie.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR_GgLX01RnNa06PXgiudpkW1RhMBsCKigMM1n1XL5lP2oUnrS7RX9WEL88f8XorU2RmLNgF-SOFhlg2uzgaP-XCXj2cWKA6EmlB0s40qRK0VlkDUGS81EKhqv2vCtQi726ALNMO4quFvL/s1600/rupunzel+pattern+cover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR_GgLX01RnNa06PXgiudpkW1RhMBsCKigMM1n1XL5lP2oUnrS7RX9WEL88f8XorU2RmLNgF-SOFhlg2uzgaP-XCXj2cWKA6EmlB0s40qRK0VlkDUGS81EKhqv2vCtQi726ALNMO4quFvL/s1600/rupunzel+pattern+cover.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I like the skirt that she is wearing here. Also, I was thinking that Emily would have the top layer of chiffon torn up in no time if I went by the pattern. I think I am going to exclude that part and make it look more like this picture below.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1XnpmoLGKCkpomIvCLpX3f8_kM8jaIi-TGUr8CDpt_HsYu3FEDvwmt4buVvFVO2q-ib73h-kgevPak05mYeFA3SVWfOH4qGrUxVlDxqUjJKaudt_qfRLAZFtdEoQsw0DeVrLbv55zOrS1/s1600/Petticoatnone.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1XnpmoLGKCkpomIvCLpX3f8_kM8jaIi-TGUr8CDpt_HsYu3FEDvwmt4buVvFVO2q-ib73h-kgevPak05mYeFA3SVWfOH4qGrUxVlDxqUjJKaudt_qfRLAZFtdEoQsw0DeVrLbv55zOrS1/s320/Petticoatnone.jpg" width="179" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I also love the two different patterns that are shown here so I think that I am going to use a brocade and then a plain fabric accented by some sort of trim. Unfortunately I can't get this specific application ( I don't have a computerized machine that does embroidery, so sad! ) but I think I can come up with something cute!</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhPCaK4OokgVc5sDRX5qROSIlu-ZpXBq5FjSlrZxI1mlNdRZlnqhQTmGszPNvGHunJ_o-N8MbjVOKRSKUVfFdcxIJKbiPgAyCAfJwXmFW_S6e47T1Ek1Eur1WI3zXtvepoNsKjyL2bK_fF/s1600/Skirt002.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="292" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhPCaK4OokgVc5sDRX5qROSIlu-ZpXBq5FjSlrZxI1mlNdRZlnqhQTmGszPNvGHunJ_o-N8MbjVOKRSKUVfFdcxIJKbiPgAyCAfJwXmFW_S6e47T1Ek1Eur1WI3zXtvepoNsKjyL2bK_fF/s320/Skirt002.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I also like the pattern on the top so I think I will try and find something tone on tone like this for the top.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-ZNQZ2FSSpqLwxRzn9f2bM4QKW4YoPR7k3wuqGPL5OQIJ_pM82yOc0K-Q2H099NokZHfb6D7kjhIMd9FFOXkO6iPBmD-kL06bXeebBQgUAu6ZfRDJCfnnyEaZAT-ju3AHNtc19yOLLZx1/s1600/Bodice001-1-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-ZNQZ2FSSpqLwxRzn9f2bM4QKW4YoPR7k3wuqGPL5OQIJ_pM82yOc0K-Q2H099NokZHfb6D7kjhIMd9FFOXkO6iPBmD-kL06bXeebBQgUAu6ZfRDJCfnnyEaZAT-ju3AHNtc19yOLLZx1/s320/Bodice001-1-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here is what the Rapunzel looks like at Disney and I really like this look. Of course they can get the same fabric as in the movie and I can't but I like the look so that is what I am going to work toward.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi506AvvFsgYtveeuUW0tCpj761LP3He6JwdWwhwGrsa92_hzxSEQ7hS42yQ5V6IkDzmmE_he-ymt7blOCwoZ7kR_V716PmF2bHepTWc4QBdRBkXynSU5_N196Vdn7ycTFwpcqjE4adTkje/s1600/Disneyland+rapunzel+dress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi506AvvFsgYtveeuUW0tCpj761LP3He6JwdWwhwGrsa92_hzxSEQ7hS42yQ5V6IkDzmmE_he-ymt7blOCwoZ7kR_V716PmF2bHepTWc4QBdRBkXynSU5_N196Vdn7ycTFwpcqjE4adTkje/s320/Disneyland+rapunzel+dress.jpg" width="192" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">The pattern gives you directions for a head piece but I REALLY don't like that look! I want something that looks more like these pictures of her hair! There is the issue that Emily has brown hair and that it is not very long but....</div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyoCdPgt4M1fjJe-TEXMIyH-91NPQdXbvcO4go_cLo0XlbAYdYNI2xPkB-h28Tr_4cCJ-o-nNYvNXkFdoG_AN6Rft_7PfKUR759XdvmWNsecQ3tL4Uu1hNx080O_EPSkVe954K-4yWOyUc/s1600/hair+braid.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyoCdPgt4M1fjJe-TEXMIyH-91NPQdXbvcO4go_cLo0XlbAYdYNI2xPkB-h28Tr_4cCJ-o-nNYvNXkFdoG_AN6Rft_7PfKUR759XdvmWNsecQ3tL4Uu1hNx080O_EPSkVe954K-4yWOyUc/s1600/hair+braid.jpg" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPzx0K5idtAkwvzBRBnkoBmmrWyijFSk_UnzuIt8xtbpbVZi8lumxlnTjQVEWcY3BMcWpL0r3L0q-y6rduWtBorPpLoYeJH4tPBR0kBbqjuSNX7KSpzVD73KuKk6xsBFIJapDFznkyr5Fp/s1600/rapunzel+braid+w+flowers.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPzx0K5idtAkwvzBRBnkoBmmrWyijFSk_UnzuIt8xtbpbVZi8lumxlnTjQVEWcY3BMcWpL0r3L0q-y6rduWtBorPpLoYeJH4tPBR0kBbqjuSNX7KSpzVD73KuKk6xsBFIJapDFznkyr5Fp/s1600/rapunzel+braid+w+flowers.png" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I am thinking I can get some hair combs and attach some hair extensions that I can braid and then add the flowers to make my own hair piece. I will have to see what I can find. It is Halloween season so who knows what I can find, I'm sure I can get something that I like better!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">So, here is the next project for me...... I am not sure if I am going to get what I want but here is to me trying! Wish me luck!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I will post pictures as the project develops...stay tuned and check back with me!</div><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Earlier I posted that I am doing a dance show with my husband in October. We are dancing a routine to the American Tango. I needed to come up with a dress and got a great deal on one on line. I decided that I was going to make it my own and do some adjustments to it. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Here is the dress as I bought it for those of you that didn't see the earlier post.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9nPtfbj0kXN8FlQ3ZbmprDktsluLAo0t7yvbpyIQQyzg858WICXLbavJYYt7GxnongVWFGYcM19VAvoUKWBgo7N-py61LBAPcfEpNPQWysg3juGnE3PwMEEQQ3dmbT4E9Z-eM2FCeHzwr/s1600/Show+dress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9nPtfbj0kXN8FlQ3ZbmprDktsluLAo0t7yvbpyIQQyzg858WICXLbavJYYt7GxnongVWFGYcM19VAvoUKWBgo7N-py61LBAPcfEpNPQWysg3juGnE3PwMEEQQ3dmbT4E9Z-eM2FCeHzwr/s320/Show+dress.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I took some of the bottom off and cut the dress to the traditional tango angle. </div><div style="text-align: center;">Today it was raining when we got up so I decided it was a good day to get some projects done. </div><div style="text-align: center;"> Brian and I are discussing what design we are going to do for Emily's big girl bed. Hence the previous post. I am trying to come up with a complete picture of what I want her room to look like. I need to figure out fabric first so I decided to start with a pillow.</div><div style="text-align: center;">Brian built Caleb's big boy bed so the same goes for Emily. I just need to draw him up some plans and he goes to work. It has saved us a lot of money and we get a sturdy bed that the kids can't break.</div><div style="text-align: center;"> </div><div style="text-align: center;"> Here is my first pillow, I have the next one cut and laid out waiting for completion.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc6orkZxwUeGFQhygv96YuXDVw5AbZoA6m6qYlPBrMQtebcMiRRzPv6pNVf_rKwMMFMsOxjO2dCBEbDjm7JTh_sLnL4riYTl9VMn_TWIC3QRAgU3g0csibVbqtwUl4Slrr_H7Ob49OAYEY/s1600/Emilys+1st+pillow+1.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc6orkZxwUeGFQhygv96YuXDVw5AbZoA6m6qYlPBrMQtebcMiRRzPv6pNVf_rKwMMFMsOxjO2dCBEbDjm7JTh_sLnL4riYTl9VMn_TWIC3QRAgU3g0csibVbqtwUl4Slrr_H7Ob49OAYEY/s320/Emilys+1st+pillow+1.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0Z7g0pI-ROHPy7xy44TAKp_Mbl3fDRz0atUKWcEOTse8h9OyYjg-6enTG_FmHhgWz3DOoXO8qrNuC3OBSa-bboS7onaLMx1zANWUspuCaaCprUy7hAFfrlLfErT-0dpQ7yIBJLy_6Xkiy/s1600/Emilys+1st+pillow+2.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg0Z7g0pI-ROHPy7xy44TAKp_Mbl3fDRz0atUKWcEOTse8h9OyYjg-6enTG_FmHhgWz3DOoXO8qrNuC3OBSa-bboS7onaLMx1zANWUspuCaaCprUy7hAFfrlLfErT-0dpQ7yIBJLy_6Xkiy/s320/Emilys+1st+pillow+2.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">I also decided to make a skirt out of some fabric that I had left from a skirt I was going to make for myself. I don't like throwing things away so I re purposed it. Not bad if I do say so myself!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjrE4O21_lkrn-ea801UXMEispO6ZYMRhBjowtsjX5EI-5P-6YAdsmmvHQv2lsvs44f4w9Vs8xJqDIxQmBQdgYb2nxOES4wQdOYMAU9iWbmzKjCik58uk2TCgMhWr_dFLIZq8xKocrvaFo/s1600/DSC00103.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjjrE4O21_lkrn-ea801UXMEispO6ZYMRhBjowtsjX5EI-5P-6YAdsmmvHQv2lsvs44f4w9Vs8xJqDIxQmBQdgYb2nxOES4wQdOYMAU9iWbmzKjCik58uk2TCgMhWr_dFLIZq8xKocrvaFo/s320/DSC00103.JPG" width="320" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieuT8JeyWDF772d8K3lkRHu-9cjDL6CgNQutWkZRsBhXDN72nedIAU7W9D9V528LW3FuBfuHhDVSYKVpn50kFnI9Yy77GYHvsgiOD3_wLbFYtP2CyWuZ6NqF9n3cPjAsF-11UyxX8PnSfg/s1600/Blue+ribbon+skirt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieuT8JeyWDF772d8K3lkRHu-9cjDL6CgNQutWkZRsBhXDN72nedIAU7W9D9V528LW3FuBfuHhDVSYKVpn50kFnI9Yy77GYHvsgiOD3_wLbFYtP2CyWuZ6NqF9n3cPjAsF-11UyxX8PnSfg/s320/Blue+ribbon+skirt.jpg" width="274" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I had an awesome weekend with Family. A much needed break in all the craziness of life. This week is back to the grind! I am working on promoting the business and just started a Twitter account! Please come and check it out. Tweet me!<br />
We are doing a garage sale this weekend so I need to get that all set up and ready to go by Thursday so that I can get ready for hosting my FIRST Moms night out for my fellow mom's. I am excited!<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"> We have dance rehearsal tomorrow night for the program coming up in October! Exciting and nerve racking at the same time! I am going to be doing some alterations to a dress that I found an awesome deal on. I only paid $21 and change with shipping for it! I will post updates on the changes as I get to them! Here is what the dress looks like so far.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9nPtfbj0kXN8FlQ3ZbmprDktsluLAo0t7yvbpyIQQyzg858WICXLbavJYYt7GxnongVWFGYcM19VAvoUKWBgo7N-py61LBAPcfEpNPQWysg3juGnE3PwMEEQQ3dmbT4E9Z-eM2FCeHzwr/s1600/Show+dress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9nPtfbj0kXN8FlQ3ZbmprDktsluLAo0t7yvbpyIQQyzg858WICXLbavJYYt7GxnongVWFGYcM19VAvoUKWBgo7N-py61LBAPcfEpNPQWysg3juGnE3PwMEEQQ3dmbT4E9Z-eM2FCeHzwr/s320/Show+dress.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I ordered red shoes off ebay and so I am going to be adding some red into it somehow. I am also going to add straps and take off the black neck collar. I am excited to get it started but it isn't at the top of the list for this week.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I am not sure how much I will get back this week so, have a great week everyone!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I have been looking for a purse that I thought was the right size and still cute, yet different! I found this pattern on line for free and decided that I would make a new purse myself! Here are some pictures of the finished product! Hope you like it as much as I do!<br />

I had no idea what I was going to make with it. As I was going through my patterns and inventory of pieces I realized that I haven't done any girls overalls. So, here is the finished product, hope you like it! Can't wait for Emily to wear them!<br />

Got lots of yard work done and make a cute skirt for Emily to wear! It has two regular pockets and a cargo pocket. It has elastic only in the back so that the front looks more grown up! She loves it! Hope you had a good holiday too!Precious Monkeyshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15632208020444651524noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4000334598976237297.post-90773455084959642992011-05-12T10:15:00.000-07:002011-05-13T13:35:40.517-07:00This SaturdayI will be a Building Block for the Grand Opening of their Baby Boutique.
